About the Conference
Africa continues to grapple with a multitude of challenges that impede rapid sustainable urbanization for a healthy continent. Researchers and engineers, the world over continue to seek solutions for the 21st century regarding land, health and energy, climate change, water, and sanitation. The world continues to believe that Africa is a continent of the future that will see applications of sustainable technologies towards the empowerment of communities. African progress is needed to ensure that there is peace and prosperity. In that regard, the 11th conference organized by Unisa for 2024, is under the theme: "Building Sustainable Rural and Urban Cities for Economic Growth, Enhancing Health and Eradicating Poverty". In summation of all previous conferences' advances, reflecting on the contemporary African actuality and gazing into the future, the theme presented is opportune.
